The simplicity of the black pencil lines and the three gouache stains, which evoke orifices or bodily wounds, call for a thoughtful reflection on an image that brings together aspects of abstraction, expressionism, and minimalism. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The artist<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>(Sceaux, France, 1937 \u2013 Paris, 2003)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout his career, he produced an anti-academic work, opposed to any decorative aspirations.
